Traffic is King, but this comes FIRST
Visitors to your site are critical – getting them there automatically is even better. Here’s how…
Before we begin
Before you begin trying to get traffic to your site, you need to do your keyword research first. The reason this is so important is that you are going to be building content and traffic sources for specific keywords. So you need to make sure the keywords you’re targeting are worth targeting.
While doing your keyword research, keep the following in mind:
- Are the keywords you’re interested in attainable? Take a look at the “strength” of others websites (and how many) are already targeting these keywords.
- What kinds of visitors do these keywords bring? If you don’t do your research you’ll end up with a lot of traffic that doesn’t buy from you. You want to generate visitors ready to buy.
- What about affiliates? If you want to build a huge business, you’re going to need affiliates to help you. So, it’s important to also target affiliates in the keywords you go after.
Of course, this all takes time if you plan to do it yourself. And hiring an expert is very expensive. The upside is that these two factors keep most everyone from even doing their keyword research. The smartest marketers use website traffic software to automate this and other aspects of their business. This will not only speed it up. It will give you better results, as well.
Once you know your keywords…
Once you’ve done your properly keyword research, you’re now ready to start targeting these keywords to draw in visitors.
Powerful Traffic Tactics:
- Surveys
- “Help” Websites
- Video Websites
Surveys
People love filling in surveys. You can use this fact to provide “sticky” content for other website owners. They benefit by getting free content for their site and you get a link to your site under the survey. The beauty of this is that it generates website visitors for you with no work on your part. Most people think surveys are just for collecting data, but in this case you don’t even care about the answers. So, get creative and make up a survey that’s wacky to get other people interested in putting it on their sites.
“Traffic Traps”
Maybe you’ve seen these help sites where people post questions and other people answer them. But, like the surveys, that’s not why you’re going to pay attention to these sites. You are going to generate traffic, leads and sales from them. Of course, the process of digging through these sites and pulling out the content info of leads for your business is very time consuming. So, if you’re smart, you’ll use website traffic software to do it all for you. These tools put the whole thing on auto-pilot and just deliver the leads to you each day.
Video Websites
Another great resource is video sharing sites like YouTube. In fact, YouTube has over 2 billion videos watched per day! If used properly, video sites can get you more website traffic than you know what to do with.
Even if you don’t think you can make a good video. It’s really easy to just start with an article or something you’ve already written. And use free screen capture software to record yourself reading it. I’ve even seen software that will automatically convert an article to a video!
In Closing
Getting traffic is not that difficult. Just be a creative and think outside the box a bit. You can even use software to automate most of what we’ve talked about.
So, start right now and:
- Do your keyword research
- Then create some surveys born to go viral
- Make sure to use the “answer” sites
- And definitely include video sharing sites
